Naryn Igilik | Film & TV Director, Producer.

Naryn Igilik a well-organized and outgoing director and producer based in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Working also as line producer and local fixer. Start work in film and TV production in 1997 and has 27 years experience. Fluent in Kazakh, Russian & English with good communication skills and an extensive network of local production and location contacts, ideally placed to support TV & film production within Kazakhstan and the surrounding territories.

In 2004 he graduated from the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography. The workshop of Professor V. Naumov.
Diploma in film and television director.

Graduated from Timur Bekmambetov’s Bazelevs School of Screenwriting, Tom Lazarus workshop. University of California Los Angeles.

In his filmography there are more than 30 films.

He 1st AD of the films “Mongol”, “The Old Man/Shal”, “Mech Pobedy”, “Lave” and “Schizo”.

Second unit director of the film “Kazakh Khanate”.

Director of the TV series “Omir otkelderi”.

Producer of the docudrama “Epic Warrior Women: Amazons” for the Smithsonian Institution.

Executive Producer of the “Tulpar” National  Film Awards.

Vice President of the National Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Best Director and Grand Prix of short films contest.

Participated in international film festivals in Berlin, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Moscow.

Critics Choice Award. “For contribution to the development of cinema”, for the high level of international cooperation.

In 2013, he founded the company “COLIBRI FILMS”, which is engaged in film production and also provides services for foreign film production companies in Kazakhstan.
